Travel overview
The Western Cape of South Africa is characterised by its incredible diversity. From the Little Karoo Steppe to fertile wine regions on rugged mountain ridges to the Cape Peninsula, whose national park on the mountain ridges contains over 6000 plant species, from the primeval geraniums to the royal proteas - all of this is best explored on foot and by bike. You will often spend two nights in the same stylish guesthouse and, thanks to good chefs, eat there too.
Travel Information
A moderate level of fitness and team spirit are required for this trip. The climate is as varied as the route: temperatures in the Little Karoo can climb to 35°C, but these are bearable with low humidity, but it can get cool at night, especially at higher altitudes.
