“Our guide,Vitriano and driver Ben were excellent. They took very good care of us. Vitriano was able to fix the bikes to our satisfaction when there were problems..this is very important to us.Ben was a careful driver giving us a smooth ride all the way. Both were always pleasant and polite.
The cycle route was superb except for the last day around Lake Bunyonyi where it was very rocky,way beyond our ability so we had to give up after an hour.
The hotels were very comfortable and clean.
We had a great time,thanks to Vitriano and Ben and the great people of Uganda!”

“A great trip. Our driver/guide Eben was superb. He has a great sense of humour and accommodated all our needs. I had an accident (totally my fault). Thanks to him I got patched up and and was ready to cycle again the next day. My colleague often had different ideas for the day to me and Eben kept us both fully satisfied. “One of the best trips I’ve been on….excellent lunches, amazing country, Jo made quite a difference….think other staff running may be challenging, good support. Consider charging a bit more and better accommodations, if possible. Recommend the best sim card at the airport (I took Orange and coverage was poor) and recommend how much money to get at airport for extra things (not gifts) as availability of ATM’s poor en route. You might wish to recommend both trips together as I did. (Highlights Madagascar and Highlights Eastern South Africa with Swaziland) “

“Our guide, Jean Paul was excellent. He was extremely knowledgeable and personal. He was very accommodating and helpful. Safety was a priority with him. It was a very educational trip. We were pleased that we were able to see and experience the many regions and cultures. The travel time between destinations was very long. This may be because of our lack of understanding of distances and the road conditions.This affected the amount of biking we did. We might have restructured our trip if we knew how long it took to travel by car. I would like to have biked more each day with a bit more challenging routes. My wife Susan was pleased with the biking distances and level of difficulty.Our driver Gilbert was a very competent driver but was not very helpful with the bikes and luggage. I am not sure of his contractual arrangement with your company. Overall experience was very good. “
“Guide Jean Paul was the best we ever had. More cycling and hiking days would be better,we were seeking an active holiday, perhaps covering less distance overall. We loved Drakensberg so i am not sure how to accomplish it. Ending with the Apartheid museum and then a tour through Soweto was great. Swaziland was beautiful but we felt the huts were too rustic.”

African Bikers was founded by Andreas Lappe and Jens Deister in 1993, after the two of them arrived in Cape Town following a year-long trip across Africa by bike.
