Tour description
Pick up the rental car, bike rack and MTBs in the city. Drive to the coastal town of Langebaan, located directly on a lagoon. (-)

Cycling in the West Coast National Park. There is a network of different roads. (F)
Cycling route 0-60 km, almost flat, tarmac
Drive by car to Clanwilliam. A varied cycling route on very quiet tracks, first along the Olifants River, then over a pass (560m) to the edge of the Cedar Mountains. From there back to Clanwilliam. (F)
Cycling route 75 km, 940 hm, piste
Distance 200 km, duration approx. 2 hours
From the guesthouse, we cycle to the Pakhuis Pass (990m). At first it is still asphalt and then on a dirt road, through very beautiful fynbos, which is unique here. The famous rooibos tea is grown in a few places. Then we go on a lonely track to the small settlement of Heuningvlei (honey lake). There are no tourists or cars here, people mainly move around by donkey cart. Time has stood still here 150 years ago. The residents are very friendly. We return to Clanwilliam to the guesthouse on the same route. (F)
Cycling route 64 km, 1490 hm, tarmac/track
By car we drive to Matjesrivier (1 hour). From there we take a lonely track first to the small village of Eselbank and then after a steep descent to Wupperthal. Founded by the Rhenish mission, you will find a tranquil, intact life here. It is worth visiting the local shoemaker who still makes the popular field shoes from sturdy leather by hand. Then we go (unfortunately the 500 steep meters of altitude) back to the plateau and then back to the car and drive to the accommodation Kromrivier Cedarberg Park (B,D)
Cycling route 68 km, 1000 hm, piste
Distance 130 km, duration approx. 2 hours
Drive to Tulbagh (2.5 hours). You can get your cycling permit at the Shell petrol station in town, at Cape Dutch Quarters (on Tulbagh’s Main Road – Stel Street) or at the Tulbagh Tourist Office (on Church Street next to the museum). This permit costs 50 Rand and is valid for two days.
Today's cycling route is the so-called "Farm Trail". Tulbagh is a town in the mountainous area of "Land van Waveren" in the South African wine country. The basin is bordered by mountains on three sides and there are wonderful views in every direction. (F)
Cycling route 24 km, 500 hm, piste
Distance 150 km, duration approx. 2.5 hours
Today we will be cycling on a varied route on a selected MTB trail through Tulbagh. Today's cycling route is called "Bone Trail". You can start cycling directly from your accommodation and a circular cycling route will take you back to your accommodation. There are two possible cycling routes, the green and the black, with the green route being a little shorter and not as strenuous and the black route being longer and more challenging (F)
Cycling route 19/39 km, 420 hm/1200 hm, tarmac/track
Drive via Ceres to Inverdoorn Game Reserve. (3 hours) There you will experience two game drives in an open 4x4, one in the afternoon and another the next morning. Overnight in one of the comfortable rooms at the 4* Lodge. (B,L,D)

Drive via Montagu to the African Game Lodge, where you will stay for two nights. In Montagu, it is worth taking a walk through the Badkloof to the hot springs. In the afternoon, you can go on a short bike ride from the lodge. Accommodation is in the luxurious safari tents. (B,D)
Cycling route 0-30 km, up to 700 m elevation, various jeep tracks
Distance 170 km, duration approx. 2.5 hours
Drive to Swellendam. Outside the town lies the Bontebok National Park, where cycling among wild animals is a real experience. (F)
Cycling route 0-50 km, track
Distance 90 km, duration approx. 1.5 hours
A short drive (45 min.) takes you to the Van Loveren winery near Robertson. The winery has three different MTB trails from which you can choose your cycling route today. You can get your cycling permit at reception. In the afternoon, a wine tasting at the Van Loveren winery or a boat trip on the Breede River from nearby Viljoensdrift is worthwhile. Drive back to Swellendam to the accommodation (B)
Cycling route 12/21/32 km, 200/350/550 hm, piste
Distance 110 km, duration approx. 1.5 hours
Drive to Elgin. Cycle tour in Oak Valley on MTB trails with different levels of difficulty. You will receive your cycling permit at the entrance. Continue to Stellenbosch to the Bonne Esperance Guest House 4* for three nights, where you will stay in an apartment suite. (B)

You cycle from your accommodation to the Jonkershoek Nature Reserve, where you can choose between different cycling routes with different levels of difficulty. You will receive your cycling permit at the entrance. You cycle back to your accommodation. (B)
Cycling route 0 – 50 km, 0 – 1000 hm, tarmac/track
A short drive (20 minutes) takes you to the Boschendal winery. Today you can choose between different cycling routes with different levels of difficulty. All cycling routes offer views of the winery. Afterwards, a wine tasting at Boschendal is worthwhile. Return to your accommodation in Stellenbosch. (B)

Driving distance 30 km, 0.75 h
You will drive to Kleinmond. On the way you can visit the penguin colony and/or the Harold Porter Botanical Garden in Betty's Bay. Your accommodation, the Villa Chad Guesthouse 4*, is located in a quiet street not far from the long, white beach in Kleinmond. The beach restaurant is known for its excellent fish. (B)
Distance 85 km, duration approx. 1.5 hours
A short drive (10 min) takes you to the car park of the Kogelberg Nature Reserve. From here you can cycle to the reception where you will receive your cycling permit. The route leads from here on a trail to a jeep track that runs uphill along the Palmiet River. You cross the Louws River (approx. 6 km) and continue to follow the Palmiet River on the right. Your turnaround point is at the Stokoei Bridge, where you will also find a small swimming pool for cooling off. You return to the accommodation by car. (B)
Cycling route approx. 11 km, 0 – 300 hm, tarmac/track
Distance 15 km, duration approx. 0.5 h
You will return to Cape Town by car, where you will spend the last days of your trip. Accommodation at the Rosedene Guesthouse 4* at the foot of Table Mountain. In Cape Town there are various options for another bike tour, e.g. at Table Mountain, Lion's Head or the Koeberg Nature Reserve. Traffic here is limited to antelopes, zebras and tortoises.
On the last morning, pick up the rental bikes. Return the vehicle at Cape Town airport and depart.
