Tour description
Descend to Johannesburg, where the driver awaits you for the transfer to the Airport Game Lodge. You can spend the rest of the day or evening as you wish.
Bus route 10 km, duration approx. 0.25 h
After breakfast, you set off on a 6-hour drive eastwards to the province of Mpumalanga. The landscape here is characterised by mountains, panoramic passes, green valleys, rivers, waterfalls and forests. In the afternoon, you reach the God's Window viewpoint on the Panorama Route. The view of the expanse of the Lowveld, which lies 700 metres below you, is breathtaking. A short hike takes you to the Mac Mac waterfalls, which plunge 50 metres into the depths. The waterfalls are surrounded by green and reddish-grey rock faces. A detour that is definitely worthwhile! (F,M,A)

Early in the morning, you lace up your hiking boots to explore the Blyde River Canyon. The path leads you down to the canyon, which is one of Africa's great natural wonders. After a picnic with a view of the hill country, you continue to your lodge.
South Africa's largest nature reserve, Kruger National Park, boasts the world's greatest biodiversity and 16 different ecosystems. It is home to the famous "Big 5": lions, elephants, rhinos, buffaloes and leopards as well as over 500 bird species, 114 reptiles and many species of fish. The fifth day of the trip is dedicated entirely to game drives. You swap the touring vehicle for an open safari vehicle and explore the southern part of the national park.
Another highlight awaits you the next day. You hike through the bush early in the morning with your local ranger. The ranger introduces you to tracking and tells you about life in the bush. (F,M,A)

The journey continues to the Kingdom of Eswatini. You cross green, fertile fruit plantations and finally reach the Malolotja Nature Reserve in the mountains of Swaziland. The reserve is known for its wide variety of habitats, from flat grassland to dense bushveld and wet forests. What better way to explore the game reserve than on foot? You hike along the rolling hills of the Malolotja Reserve to a beautiful waterfall that makes its way over the rocks into the depths.
The Swazi have a very rich cultural heritage. You visit the craft market while the tour guide introduces you to the Swazi culture. (F,M,A)

Today you will travel further south, back to South Africa to a lodge in the private Ukuwela Game Reserve. You will recover from the journey and start another bush walk in the afternoon. Together with the local guide you can spot some of the 540 species of birds that are native to this area. With a bit of luck you will even see a shy Nyala antelope in the lush landscape near the Msinene River.
Today you will learn more about the endangered rhinos. You will visit the Hluhluwe Game Reserve, which provides protection for over 1,600 rhinos, and will be a guest in a Zulu village. Here, too, you will still find old African culture and you can chat a little with the villagers or try to communicate using hand signals. (B,L,D)

You leave Zululand behind you and travel towards the coast to Durban, the third largest city in South Africa. Once there, you will visit the futuristic Moses Mabhida Stadium, built for the 2010 World Cup. An incredible construction allows you to climb up onto the stadium and get a 360° panoramic view of the city and the surrounding area. Optional: The particularly brave can swing across the stadium on the world's highest swing, the Big Rush Swing.
Afterwards, take a walk along the promenade and discover a completely new South Africa, the likes of which you have never seen before on our trip. Stop at a restaurant for lunch. (B)
Misty Blue Waterfront Hotel & Spa

Depending on your flight time, you will leave the hotel and fly from King Shaka International Airport to Cape Town, where the driver will meet you in the arrivals hall. The journey continues along the picturesque coast towards Hermanus. Visit the penguin colony in Betty's Bay. Hermanus is known for whale watching from land. Southern right whales stay here from June to November to mate in the lagoon or calve in the shallow waters. In Hermanus, you stroll along the coast before stopping at a local restaurant. The next day, you will visit the Rivendell Estate winery. South Africa produces very good and well-known wines. The area under cultivation is much larger than in Europe. You will learn something about production and can also taste a few of the fine wines. (F)

You leave Hermanus and drive to Cape Town. The metropolis of 3.8 million inhabitants is a dazzling city with a mix of cultures and lifestyles. Cape Town is said to be one of the most beautiful cities in the world. You lace up your hiking boots for the Cape hike with the famous Cape of Good Hope as your destination. The ocean here is rough and wild, the coast picturesquely beautiful. (F)

The majestic Table Mountain is a must for all visitors to Cape Town. That's why you start early today with the hike up the world-famous Table Mountain. From the world-famous Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden, you hike over the Skeleton Gorge to the Table Mountain massif. The climb is rewarded with fantastic views of the city from the edge of Table Mountain. You go down via the Kasteel Poort to Kloof Nek. If the visibility is good, you have a wide view of Cape Town, the bay and the former prison island of Robben Island. Once you're at the top, you also have the option of taking the gondola back down (not included). For dinner, you can try game meat - such as kudu, ostrich or nyala, depending on what the menu offers.
