Travel overview
The 370-kilometre MTB route with an altitude difference of 5200 metres takes you around Africa's highest volcano. The route follows stony tracks through the rainforests and villages of the Chagga and Meru, as well as the wild savannah of the Maasai. The tracks around the cloudy, snow-covered roof of Africa are mainly dusty, sometimes rocky, with a few tarmac roads in between. During an overnight stay in a Maasai cultural village, you learn about their customs, songs and dishes. Discover African big game on safari in Arusha National Park. There are 2 booking options: the first option is with a local English-speaking mountain bike guide. In this case, everyone carries their own luggage on their back. Alternatively, the comfort option with luggage transport offers a support vehicle, so that the stages can be shortened as desired or required.
