You will be greeted by your tour guide at Windhoek Airport. Drive south of the city to Heroes' Acre, a memorial to all Namibians killed by colonization and apartheid. You will drive through the Khomas Highlands to a 3* lodge on Lake Oanob.

In the morning, transfer south to Keetmanshoop. After lunch, we head out on the trail for the first time to the quiver tree forest and the playground of the giants with its impressive dolerite formations. Quiver trees belong to the aloe family and bloom in June and July. Overnight stay in a lodge in Keetmanshoop. (B,L)

Transfer to Holoog. From there you cycle into the Gondwana Canyon Park. With a bit of luck you can see mountain zebras, ostriches, oryx antelopes and springboks on the way. You will be at your lodge by midday. In the afternoon the cycle route leads from there to the actual canyon rim. The view into the second largest canyon in the world is truly gigantic. Overnight stay for two nights in a lodge near the Fish River Canyon. (B,L)

You will cycle on a good track through a fascinating desert landscape down into the Fish River Canyon and pass ancient gneiss, dolerite and quartz rocks. You can relax your muscles in the hot springs of Ai-Ais. You will be back at your accommodation in the late afternoon. (B,L)

Transfer to the foot of the Zarishoogte Pass. Crossing to the oldest desert in the world, the Namib Desert. You cycle past farms with ostriches and Karakul sheep before you stay at a 3* lodge. The afternoon is suitable for relaxing by the pool or for a hike on the farm. (B,L)

Before sunrise, drive to the entrance of the Namib Naukluft Park. Cycle tour between the red dunes of Sossusvlei. The morning sun offers a unique spectacle of colors. Solitaire Desert Farm 3*

In the morning, you will go on a bike tour in the geologically interesting Büllsport Gorge with 500 to 700 m high walls. You will pass a huge tuff formation. In the afternoon, you can relax by the pool. You will end the day with a walk and a sundowner drink. (B,L)

Solitaire Desert Farm 3*

The day begins with a transfer to Walvis Bay. There you stop at the lagoon and look for greater and lesser flamingos as well as pelicans. Have lunch there. In the Namib-Naukluft Park you see living stones (Lithops), the moon landscape and the largest Welwitschia Mirabilis plant discovered so far. In Swakopmund you get an impression of many buildings from the former German colonial era. Stay two nights in a 3-star hotel. (B,L)

Transfer to the vicinity of Usakos. Cycle tour to Namibia's landmark, Spitzkoppe, which rises prominently from the plain. Visit to ancient rock paintings by the indigenous Khoi San. Transfer to the mining town of Uis. You will stay in thatched chalets in a 2* lodge. (B,L)

You cycle past the imposing Brandberg massif into Damaraland. Herero women sell handicrafts and semi-precious stones along the way. Twyfelfontein Lodge 3*

In the morning, visit the famous rock engravings of Twyfelfontein, which were recently declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Khoi San have only carved sandstone in a few places in southern Africa, rather than painting it. Walk the "Lion Tail" route. Then take a bike trip to nearby basalt columns and the "Burnt Mountain". The afternoon is free. There are several paths on the lodge grounds that are ideal for biking. (B,L,D)

Twyfelfontein Lodge 3*

Transfer to the petrified forest. You cycle through Mopane forest and past several table mountains to the stylish Vingerklip rock needle. The 25 m high free-standing rock needle is famous as a natural monument. Accommodation is nearby in a lodge. (B,L,D)

Bus distance 100 km, duration 2 h

Transfer to the famous Etosha National Park. Dominated by the mostly empty, huge salt lake, the animals live in artificial and natural watering holes. With the exception of buffalo, you can see the "Big 5" here. But cheetahs, jackals, giraffes, plains zebras and springboks also call this area home. You will spend two nights in chalets in a 3* lodge not far from the national park. (B)

Etosha Safari Lodge 3*

Bus route 190 km, duration 2.5 h

After an early breakfast, you will go on a half-day game drive in an open off-road vehicle. You will again visit many waterholes. A highlight is definitely a trip into the pan itself. Only when you are several kilometers into the pan can you begin to appreciate its enormous size. The afternoon is free. If you wish, you can go on another safari in the late afternoon. (B)
