Travel overview
Cycling trip in one of the most sparsely populated countries in the world. Discover Namibia with us from a cyclist's perspective. Magnificent landscapes, the wide skies, the variety of animals adapted to the dry climate, the warm hospitality.
Namibia is known for its national parks and game reserves, for its biodiversity and its unique landscapes and vegetation. On this guided cycling tour through Namibia, you will cycle along the edge of the Fish River Canyon, the second largest canyon in the world. You will cycle in the Namib, the oldest desert in the world, through the dune landscape of Sossusvlei and in the lonely Naukluft Mountains. You will experience the remains of the German colonial era in Swakopmund, cycle on a solid salt road to the huge colony of Cape eared seals at Cape Cross, admire the millennia-old rock engravings at Twyfelfontein and go on safari in Etosha National Park.
This 18-day trip offers the unique opportunity to experience the incomparable scenic highlights of Namibia on selected cycling routes, not from the car as you would normally do. Most of the time you stay in the same accommodation twice, so you can enjoy the country's typical lodges more. High-quality full-suspension mountain bikes or e-bikes are available for cycling.
NOTES:
All cycling routes are on gravel roads. Although the routes are generally easy to ride and carefully selected, the condition of the roads can be a little bumpy depending on the weather. However, you are flexible because the support vehicle is always nearby. If you are in average shape, the roads are easy to ride. On the travel dates offered, it is the dry season in Namibia. During the day it is pleasantly warm up to 28 °C, at night the temperatures in the desert can drop to a few degrees above zero.
