After a stopover in Johannesburg, you will be greeted by your tour guide in Port Elizabeth. After loading your luggage and bikes into the trailer, you will travel by minibus to the beautiful Dungbeetle River Lodge 4*. After the long journey, you can relax and mount the pedals, handlebar bags and saddles you brought with you.

The next morning you will go on a game drive in an open safari vehicle in the Addo Elephant National Park. Short 1-hour transfer to the Theewaterskloof Dam. The varied route first leads along Cape Town's largest lake, which supplies drinking water, and later through the UNESCO Capensis World Heritage Site. From the 732 m high Franschhoek Pass you have an impressive view of the famous wine-growing region of the same name. The journey continues past wine farms to the Boschendal winery. The manor house, which is over 300 years old, is now a listed building and you can enjoy a light lunch under shady oak trees. Afterwards, the journey continues over the 380 m high Helshoogte Pass to Stellenbosch. The second oldest city in the country has a number of well-preserved historic buildings that were built in the Cape Dutch architectural style. You cycle through the Kogelberg Biosphere Reserve to Gordon's Bay. You can often see whales and Cape fur seals in the sea. On the way, you visit the penguin colony in Betty's Bay. The coastal road via Chapman's Peak and Hout Bay is rightly considered one of the most breathtaking routes in South Africa. It is not for nothing that the popular Cape Town Cycle Tour cycle race takes place here every year with over 35,000 participants from all over the world. You will reach the fashionable suburb of Camps Bay with its beach bars and shortly afterwards the Bantry Bay Suites Hotel 4* in the Sea Point district near the sea. Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden contains over 15,000 mostly endemic plant species, making it one of the most important in the world. After a tour, you climb the Table Mountain massif in a shady valley. The biodiversity is particularly evident on the back of Table Mountain. You reach the highest point, Mclears Beacon (1087 m) and hike along the famous edge of Table Mountain to the cable car top station (4 - 5 hours). The view of Cape Town, 1000 m below, is breathtaking. In the afternoon, you walk to Greenmarket Square, Parliament Garden, Natural History Museum, Art History Museum, Castle, City Hall and Malay Quarter. The rest of the afternoon is free for your own explorations. We give tips on what there is to discover in the mother city. The Waterfront is home to countless shops, good restaurants and the Two Ocean Aquarium, which is well worth seeing. (B)
