A country full of beauty and diversity, it invites you to take a deep breath and arrive. From the animal-rich plains of the east to the plant paradise of the west, this multi-faceted expanse offers a unique setting for the perfect combination of yoga, hiking and mindfulness.

The trip combines up to two outdoor yoga sessions a day with the breathtaking nature of South Africa. The intensity and length of the yoga practice depends on the respective daily programme and is perfectly coordinated. In the morning, for example, you will start with a dynamic, activating yoga session (Hatha or Flows), while gentle Yin Yoga, stretching and mobility exercises in the evening will ensure that you feel powerful, energised and relaxed at the same time. Breathing techniques (pranayama) strengthen the lungs and bring fresh energy, while meditation helps you to arrive in the moment, find inner peace and clarity and reflect on what you have experienced.

Yoga and hiking complement each other perfectly: while yoga centres the body and mind, strengthens the muscles and promotes flexibility, hiking in the vastness of nature opens up space for clarity and grounding.

The South African landscape is a constant companion to this unique experience. Whether yoga on the Cape of Good Hopesurrounded by rugged cliffs and endless sea, or on the Table Mountainhigh above Cape Town - hikes through unspoilt forests, coastal paths and reserves, where every step opens the senses and allows you to experience nature in all its splendour.

Notes:

No malaria prophylaxis required, hepatitis A, B, C and tetanus are recommended.

Temperature at this time of year 18 - 27 degrees.

For the journey, we recommend a direct flight to Johannesburg with Lufthansa and then a domestic flight from Johannesburg to Port Elizabeth with Airlink, Safair and South African Airways. From Cape Town, Lufthansa and South African Airways fly directly to Frankfurt.

Yoga instructor Gabriele Hogeforster, internationally certified and recognised by the Yoga Alliance (RYT 500+), is characterised in particular by the variety of her classes. Sometimes powerfully dynamic, sometimes flowing Vinyasa, sometimes completely calm. She is always authentic and a lot of fun. Through the combination of movement, breathing, concentration and precession, class participants can shed ballast and feel free, relaxed and very light. True to her motto: Nothing must and everything can.

Für sie ist Yoga ein Wohlfühl-Ort.
