Travel overview
This popular cycle tour takes you to the scenic and cultural highlights of eastern South Africa and Eswatini. Your tour guide will show you this extremely varied region on cycling stages of between 18 km and 56 km with few climbs and short hikes. You cycle along the panoramic route along the Blyde River Canyon and then go on safari in the famous Kruger National Park with its astonishing diversity of species. You will get to know the interesting culture of the friendly Swazi people before travelling on to the charming Hluhluwe/Umfolozi National Park with the largest rhino population in the world. You will visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site iSimangaliso Greater Wetlands and take a boat trip there.
Notes:
A light to moderate level of fitness is required for the climbs on this route. The backup also allows for shorter distances and recharging during climbs. On the travel dates offered, the climate in Kruger National Park and in Eswatini is up to 25-30 °C, and there can be rain or thunderstorms in the afternoons in the summer months.
